Excel as metaphor of late design changes

I am currently working on an Excel sheet to summarise some findings.

Its purpose and the initial idea were clear, but inputs and analysis kept on growing.

At a certain stage, it was necessary to structure it with many links to ensure consistent use of information and ready update. 

Unfortunately the original structure was designed not foreseeing the expansion of the information and now the insertion of new data is very complicated and not readable.

Conclusion is that a major rework is necessary.

Implicitly the confirmation that changing design at an advanced stage of the execution is one of the worst things that can happen... Well known topic, but it always hurts...
